Liberty Weekly Update
📅 Viking Pride
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, it’s hard to believe we only have 15 days left! This last month is always such a special time at Liberty, filled with fun activities, celebrations, and opportunities for our students to make lasting memories with their classmates and teachers. From field trips to end-of-year events, we are excited to finish the year strong while continuing to learn and grow together.
Just a quick reminder that this Friday will be an Online Learning Day. Our 5th grade students will be visiting the middle school for their orientation, which is an exciting step as they prepare for next year! We appreciate your support in helping all students stay engaged and finish the year on a positive note. Let’s make these last 15 days the best yet!
🏫 Pick-Up Drop Off Procedure
Just a few friendly reminders to keep our drop off line moving in the mornings:
- If you are the first car along the curb, please pull all the way up to the first blue cone. Students should use the entire sidewalk between the cones to exit vehicles.
- Your child should remain in your vehicle until the bell rings at 9:00 am.
- Parents should not park and walk through the parking lot. If your child needs help opening the car door, one of the staff members outside will help.
- If your child has a snack/treat/or extra things to carry, please do not park. Come through the line and a staff member will help him/her.
- Please have your child seated on the passenger side of the vehicle so he/she can exit closest to the sidewalk.
- Remind your child to walk on the sidewalk near the cones and not the parking lot after he/she exits your vehicle.
- The tardy bell rings at 9:15, your child should be in the building before the bell rings.
- During pick up time please be courteous of others. Our preschool parents park and do come up to get their child so please be courteous of them in the parking lot.
- Please make sure that your child knows what things they need to get out before they enter in the morning for the detectors.
🚌 Transportation
Some buses have rolled out with seat belts. Please remind your child that they are to wear their seat belt. Students need to also be in their assigned seat as well.

Weapon Detectors
Our students have done an excellent job learning how to go through the weapons detectors each morning. With practice and patience, the process has gone very smoothly, and we have been able to get all students into the building before 9:15 each day. Much of this success is thanks to the support from our families in helping students be prepared each morning. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to keep our school safe!

📅 iReady Testing

May 8th Orientation Day/ Online Learning Day
Our 5th grade students will be making their way to the middle school on the 8th for Orientation Day. Fifth grade parents can find that information here.
All other students will be having an online learning day. So parents please plan accordingly, as teachers will let you know expectations for the day.
1st Grade Field Trip
Our first grade students had an amazing time on their recent trip to the zoo! It was a day filled with excitement, exploration, and lots of smiles as students had the opportunity to see a variety of animals up close and learn more about wildlife and habitats. From watching playful animals to sharing the experience with friends, it was a memorable trip for everyone. We are so glad our students were able to enjoy such a fun and meaningful learning experience outside the classroom!
Earth Day Fun- 1st Grade
Our first grade students recently had a wonderful opportunity to participate in the TICCIT (Trees Into Cartons, Cartons Into Trees) program, presented by Graphic Packaging! This engaging and hands-on experience helped students learn about the importance of trees, recycling, and how paper products are made. After a fun and age-appropriate presentation, each student had the chance to plant their own tree sapling to take home. It was a meaningful way to celebrate Earth Day while teaching our students about sustainability and caring for our environment. We are so thankful to Graphic Packaging for providing this memorable experience for our students!

5th Grade Read-a-thon
Our 5th grade students were rewarded for their outstanding effort during the read-a-thon in a fun and memorable way! This class, along with the top 10 students who logged the most reading minutes, earned the opportunity to play dodgeball with Mr. Burns and Deputy Rinker. It was a great way to celebrate their hard work, dedication, and love of reading. The energy, excitement, and smiles in the gym made it clear that their effort truly paid off—what a fantastic way to recognize our students!
